AceVersions

AceVersions allows you to manage versions of the extensions you have developed and list them on your site. Your visitors will be able to check the version history on your site. It offers you to show your version info in HTML, XML and RSS formats to your visitors. You can either show all extensions in one page or select a specific category. With it’s well formated XML page, you can also use it for automatic version control for your extensions. We use it for our own AceSEF, AceVersions and AceSubscriptions components. Check our documentation for more info about how to implement automatic version checker into your component.

setMetaData System Plugin

This plugin will fire during the System onAfterInitialise event and call the JDocument setMetaData method to set up to five different meta data values set as parameters by the user. This plugin was originally requested by gtron on the Joomla Forums. The originally requested purpose was to allow the user to set the generator tag in his RSS feeds. We went ahead and made the extension able to set any meta data value so it can hopefully be used by others. History: 1.0 – Initial Release 1.1 – Add GPL comments 1.2 – Add http-equiv support and the ability to add any number of data parameters.

Version Verification Tool

Check your Joomla! files for unwanted modifications. Don’t just rely on the version number, be sure you’re up-to-date AND haven’t been hacked! The Version Verification Tool ships with a list of all files that have shipped with Joomla 1.5 since the first release. Then, using a hashing algorithm, each file on your server is checked against the release it should be to verify that it’s integrity remains intact. This tool is a must use for us at CMS Market before any Joomla upgrades, afterwards to ensure that the upgrade went smoothly, and periodically as a check to make sure that nothing has been unintentionally modified on our server. There are known hacks out there which modify specific core Joomla files in order to send login credentials to ‘bad’ people by email, to insert spam in output, or other nefarious things. The Version Verification Tool will help you to know as soon as possible if your site may have been unknowingly modified. Going forward, we want to create a simple plugin mechanism so other developers can add their own extensions for file verification. This tool is a must for any site. History 1.0 – Initial Release. 1.1 – Add xml file for Joomla! 1.5.15. 1.2 – Improve performance and minimize memory usage when Find Version parameter is set to Yes. 1.3 – Fix a bug where controller.php may not get included properly. This would result in a Class Not Defined error on some systems. 1.4 – Add xml files for Joomla! 1.5.16 and 1.5.17.

Custom Admin Access

The Custom Admin Access system plugin will limit the following functionality in the administrator backend: Modifying Global Configuration settings. Modifying or Deleting User accounts. Modifying or Deleting Groups (Joomla! 1.6). Modifying or Deleting Access Levels (Joomla! 1.6). All Media Manager operations. All Installer operations. All Module operations. All Plugin operations. All Template operations. All Language operations. All Mass Mail operations. The plugin is very useful for demo sites where you want to allow access to the administrator backend, but don’t want users to abuse the user privileges. Note: Once the plugin is enabled, it can only be disabled by update the database tables directly or by placing a file named “customadminaccess_disble” in the same directory as customadminaccess.php.

Force Password Change

This plugin will check the user’s lastvisitDate to see if it is “0000-00-00 00:00:00″ (meaning the user has never logged in). If this is the case, the user will be redirected to the edit user profile page and will not be able to go to any other page until they update their profile.
